Undoubtedly the fastest man without an ACL, GZ is the embodiment of Pitt Ultimate. From scrub to captain, GZ has put in more work in 4 years alone than entire teams and he’s just getting started. Inspired by Ed McCaffery’s compound leg fracture, GZ decided to cut the team and the nation some slack when he allowed his ACL to tear earlier this year. Little did we know, he had it all planned out from the beginning. Now with the total authority to slave drive the rest of the team, he works us till exhaustion. He is the voice we hear for 30 more seconds. He is the best dressed. He is the voice we here for one more set. He is gobble you up. He is the voice we hear when we fall asleep. He is the prettiest mouth. He is the voice we hear when we wake up. He is the task master, the slave driver. He is the heart and soul of this team.

2006-2007
First off I never played any ultimate in high school. All I did was soccer, and volleyball in high school. But by throwing a disc with my brother on a street with heavy traffic I learned to throw, but not real well. That was the extent of my experience with a disc in high school. When I came to Pitt I wanted to be involved with something that involved being an athlete. I was always playing a sport in high school and I didn’t want to stop when I came to Pitt. Therefore, when I saw the ultimate Frisbee poster hanging in the towers lobby I decided to go to a practice

After making the cuts to the A team, I was presented the opportunity to have a great time 24/7. From throwing bottles into cars at roughly 80 mph to dog piling 15ish people into the back of an RV to avoid authorities, you learn quickly that the Ultimate team never goes anywhere without a life changing experience.

Overall playing for Sabah has pretty much made my college experience ten fold of what I thought it would be. If you played sports in high school and want something to keep you in great shape and be active, Ultimate here at Pitt is the perfect thing to do.
