#9 David Zettel
Nickname: DZ, Diesel, Zettel
Biographies There are two things you need to know about Dave. One, he is very photogenic when it comes to ultimate photos (just check out that picture to the left) and, two, he makes big-time plays in big-time situations. Last season, Dave and I got to play whenever he would leave his co-op in Easton and play in a tournament with the B-team. He’d make some incredible catch and all of the freshmen would wonder who this guy was. It was good, it was fun, but it wasn’t what either of us wanted. But this year is different. We’re playing together on the A-team ó again and finally. It’s going to be a good year. Dave is the kind of teammate that everybody likes. He’ll joke with you and hang out with you after practice. He knows when to have a good time, but he also knows when it’s time to do work. He’ll push you to finish your sprint or get that layout D. And speaking of defense, that’s what he does. Together, nobody is getting past us. We’re going to run the d-line this year. It’s our time. He’s one of my best friends on this team and we have each others back. We’re going to push each other to be the best on this team. Watch out for him. -Written by Jay Huerbin
2006-2007 After making the cuts to the A team, I was presented the opportunity to have a great time 24/7. From throwing bottles into cars at roughly 80 mph to dog piling 15ish people into the back of an RV to avoid authorities, you learn quickly that the Ultimate team never goes anywhere without a life changing experience. Overall playing for Sabah has pretty much made my college experience ten fold of what I thought it would be. If you played sports in high school and want something to keep you in great shape and be active, Ultimate here at Pitt is the perfect thing to do.
