#48 Jimmy Towle
Nickname: JT
E-mail: jgt15 AT pitt.edu
Biographies Serendipitously, Jimmy couldn’t participate in track that spring season after discovering he had a stress fracture in his foot. The news broke before the team’s first meet, and as a result Towle saw the time for a decision: he gave up track and committed completely to Ultimate Frisbee by the next season. “To be honest with you, I started playing because my best friends were on the team and I knew how to throw,” Towle said. But before long, that nonchalant approach to picking hobbies ended up reaping great rewards. In 2012 Towle was a member of a State championship team when Fox Chapel made a run in the Pennsylvania Championships. Now, Towle gets to take the championship level experience onto the national stage. As a player, he has expressed his eagerness to learn from guys like Aaron Watson, who he happens to look up to. “He’s done a great job as my pod leader and has been very personal with everything we work on,” Towle said. “He takes the initiative to make me a better player and will sacrifice his own time for my sake, and on a greater level the sake of the team.” Although Aaron hasn’t played yet this year, Towle reiterates his faith. “I know he’ going to kill it when he first gets out there,” he said. “He’s already killing it on the track.” Memorable quotes: “Dream girl has to be Selena Gomez. My friends used to debate who they thought was hotter: Emma Watson or Selena. I was always at the forefront of the Selena side because she is super hot. I used to watch her on Disney Channel, and I listen to her songs (not afraid to admit it). I feel like anytime someone says, “dream guy” my mind immediately goes to Ryan Gosling. If I had to say someone I look up to, I’d probably go with Quentin Tarantino. He is a badass who makes movies how he pleases, and I love all of them.”
