Biographies In a bygone era centuries past, there was a craftsman named Jans. Jans lived in a village nestled between the winding fjords of a bygone Scandinavian nation, filled with bygone lust, bygone passions, and bygone conquests. In his village, Jans was a man respected for his skill with a hammer, for his strength, his speed, and his discerning eye. More than anything, Jans was reknown for his peaceful air. When ships were built for explorations, Jans built the ships. When weapons were needed for battles, Jans forged the weapons. But Jans would not by his own hand spill blood. Hot blood, nonetheless, did Jans possess, though by his nature he was not a violent man. One night, Jans awoke to a flapping of wings at his window. When he undid the latch a woman entered. She was Fjalar the Crow Godess, with raven hair and raven robes. She made sexual approaches to Jans, a mortal man, approaches he was bound to resist. Jans refused to resist. As punishment, Jans was made to a Raven for 900 years cursed to fly over the Atlantic but never to land. His name became Goldcomb, and with Fjalar he had a son who was named Rustred. When Goldcomb and Fjalar finally landed they did so on the American shore. Rustred was born into human form and given the name Kyle Baynes. Like his father he is fast, like his mother he is vengeful and eternal. Upon his crowing is marked the inception of Ragnarok. Upon his crowing Hell is loosed upon Earth. Kyle Baynes appears small to mask his power, and appears gentle to mask his fury. Upon his decision Hell is loosed upon Earth.
2006-2007 After perusing through various colleges/teams I found that Pittsburgh Ultimate was the team that would allow me to continue my quest in getting decent at Ultimate. I feel that I have learned more about the game after only one semester here than in my entire high school career. The team offers dedication, hard work, and determination to succeed, as well as many fun times along the way. In addition, I found that every Vet on the team was extremely helpful in making the high school to college transition easier, both on and off the field — if you know what I mean. I can’t wait to play real college Ultimate, this year and for years to come. P.S. There’s a really sweet story behind the nickname “Chowder”. Ask me about it.
