  • 1996 – First year of the Callahan Award, administered by Charles Kerr. Each team gets 1 ballot with 3 votes for 3 points, 2 points, and 1 point. (source)
  • 1996-02-25 – 1st male and female nominees: Sarah Brown Jones (Colorado) and Broc Adams (North Carolina-Wilmington)
  • 1998 – Individual college players can cast ballots instead of teams (source).
  • 1998 – Ballots re-weighted – 3 votes for 4 points, 3 points, and 2 points. (source))
  • 2001 – Regional Coordinators can make nominations. Players are allowed to vote for a candidate from their own team. (source)

  • 2017 – First year of the Donovan Award (D-III players only), organized by Ultiworld/Ultimate Central, Each player gets a ballot of 3 ranked votes tallied using the Schulze method. There are no RC nominations.
  • 2019 – Ballot changed to 5 ranked votes tallied using the Borda count method.
