I’m playing (semi)competitive Ultimate for the first time in 3.5 years. I’m having fun doing it in Seoul. There are a lot of skilled players out here, as well as eager novices. I’m finding how much easier and enjoyable the game is to play when I’m doing conditioning on the side. I’m getting some points in at handler, which is overdue, since I’m not that speedy or agile. I’m making some points; I may be in contention for the most improved player in my Spring league. I may go out for one the more competitive teams in Seoul.
I enjoy playing many sports; I did Cross-Country, Track & Field, Football, Water Polo, and Wrestling in high school. I played Ultimate with kids back home, but this is my first season playing for an organized team.
I arrived here by chance; I’d be at the University of Michigan if I wasn’t so fortunate as to be on scholarship from the Honors College. And I would be on the water polo team instead of En Sabah Nur if its great leadership didn’t make such an immediate impression on me.
I already miss the rookie team from early in the season, but I still have a long way to go with the B team. Amongst other things I’m learning about the game, I like throwing hammers but my teammates don’t like me throwing hammers.
